Scavenger Hunt
Based on our group’s discoveries, the Valley Oaks Elementary administration, faculty, and technology integration coach appear to encourage integrating technology into the curriculum. Spring Branch ISD offers teachers and staff professional development and distance education in technology, which demonstrates encouragement from the district level. The technology integration coach at Valley Oaks is very supportive and encouraging to the teaching staff not in only integrating technology into the classroom, but with any technology questions or troubleshooting the teachers may have. Unfortunately, I have not had an opportunity to observe any lessons integrating technology, but I have heard many good things. Through my classmates’ observations, I have learned that several Valley Oaks teachers make great and successful efforts at integrating technology into their classrooms through scheduled classroom sessions in the computer labs on campus. I believe that Valley Oaks is doing an excellent job at encouraging integrating technology into the classroom and will only improve with more time and development.
