Who handles technology support at Valley Oaks Elementary?

Petra Aguinaga is the Technology Specialist for the Technology Services Department at Valley Oaks Elementary.

Does Valley Oaks have permanent technology support or a roving district representative?

Petra Aguinaga splits her services between two schools; Valley Oaks Elementary and Hunters Creek Elementary.  She is available at the Valley Oaks campus all day on Mondays and Wednesdays.  On Fridays, she spends half the day at both campuses.

How does one access technology support?

Faculty and staff can request tech support by emailing Petra Aguinaga at her technology services email address:  voetech@springbranchisd.com.  She can also be reached by her pager only if her assistance is urgent.  Faculty and staff can also access the technology services website for basic help with email and certain programs used within the district:    http://www.springbranchisd.com/admin/ts/tsindex.html

About how long do teachers have to wait before help arrives?

Teachers at Valley Oaks know Petra's availability schedule and usually request help on Mondays or Wednesdays.  If they request help after school hours or on days when she is not on campus, help arrives by her next scheduled time on campus.

Who is the librarian?

Barbara Riehl is the Librarian or Library Resource Specialist at Valley Oaks Elementary.

Does the librarian have any role in technology support? Mrs. Riehl offers technology support to students when they are using the library resources page:  http://it.springbranchisd.com/library-resources/.  She helps the students learn to navigate through the resource page and the search engines.  She also assists teachers when they have technology questions or are in the library with their classes.
