The students will:
(1) Go online and read a portion of the story: http://olp.swlauriersb.qc.ca/webquest/peterrabbit/petertortoisehare.htm
(2) The students will answer questions about the story using a handout printed from the website.
(3) The students will be asked to share their responses with the class.
(4) The students will evaluate their groups’ participation using the supplied rubric.
Have special needs and LEP students pair up with other students for help as is needed.
After the reading the students will be broken up into groups to answer their questions.
The teachers will model reading the story by reading the first and the last page of the story.
The teachers will model how to use the teamwork score sheet.
At this time the teacher could also ask other questions pertaining to the story:
What would you do if you were Peter?
How do you think the farmer felt about Peter Rabbit?
