Introduction My name is Katrina Joseph. I am a first year Kindergarten teacher at Argyle Elementary in the Houston Independent School District. I graduated from the University of Houston- Main Campus with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. There, I expanded my educational background as well as my knowledge of technology and learned that technological integration is just as important as the other content areas. Since then, I have become more enthused by technology and its integral part of instruction. I am an advocate of technological integration. I decided to extend my technology background by taking classes at the University of Houston- Clear Lake. I am enjoying this experience and with this extension of my technological background I hope to further my teaching experience in the field of technology, first, by becoming certified in Technology Applications. You never know, I may be the next Technology Coordinator near you, but until then I will continue to teach and use what I know and continue to learn about the ever changing world of technology. Areas of Interest I enjoy life overall. I take each day at a time. When I’m not at work, I like to surf the Internet, go shopping, and do things with my family. I am a very family-oriented person and will do anything to ensure that my family stays close. We have family days almost every weekend that also extends to our friends. In terms of work. I love working with my students. Kindergarten is a very important step in life which is why I decided to go into the education field, I want to be a part of the fundamentals of a child’s life. I want to have a part in who they become and offer them choices that some of them would, otherwise, not be exposed to. Goals I would love to have a more profound effect on young people’s lives by becoming a director in Early Childhood and/or a Technology Director who would work with primary teachers to teach them to effectively integrate technology into their classrooms. As of this year, my goal was to make it through my first year, and so far I have done that. I am now ready to take on another year and many more that are to come.
