In working on these products I learned about graphing, the making of charts, and how to use the mail merge feature using MS Word and MS Excel.  These are aspects of technology with which I have had very little exposure, especially the Mail Merge capability.  I am glad to say I learned how to make different charts which I will be able to share in my future classroom. The mail merge will also be a useful application for myself, rather than the students.

The hardest part of working with the MS Excel products was attempting to make a template for the weather graphing. Each calculation needed the proper formula input placed into the worksheet in an exact format in order for the graph to be produced correctly.  Once I completed this project I acquired a great deal of admiration for those individuals who work with MS Excel on a daily basis.  I also found the Mail Merge capability to be somewhat difficult but hope with practice to master this technology as well.

The most enjoyable part was seeing the completed charts and the many ways they can be formatted to present an eye-catching appearance yet still be functional.

I am sure I will be able to use these products in class for the children to enjoy, particularly the weather temperature graph.  The Mail Merge technology will be very valuable for communicating with parents about student performance.
