3113 Windows Movie Maker Project

This project taught me how to create a video using Windows Movie Maker.  For the purpose of this project, I had to create a video that could be used in my future middle school English/Language Arts classroom.

My video is titled "My Favorite Things".  In the video, I have a variety of video clips and still images. The video also includes song clips throughout the entire duration. I would use this in my classroom by having students create their own video which would be used to introduce themselves to the class and me.  Most teachers ask their students to write an autobiography of themselves, or to write an essay that introduces themselves.  This usually gives the teacher a good impression of who the students are.  However, I feel by having students create a video, it would be much more fun and creative.  The students would either create a video on who they are or even a video the showcases some of their favorite things.

Currently, my video project is set to be viewed on a very fast internet connection.  In order to properly view the video clips within my video, you will need at least a DSL connection.  Otherwise, the video clips will look like still images.  Also, the music may be distorted.  You may also find that it takes a very long time to download. I will work on adjusting this problem.

****You will notice that the first and last frame of my video looks "antique".  I put a filter on these two frames to give it an old-time look, such as it being on a reel.  I am pleased with the outcome.  Also, prior to the last frame, you will see an image of Earth.  Originally, the image was still (not moving in any way).  I applied a filter to this image which makes it now look like it is a live shot of the Earth, or a recorded clip.  It's pretty neat!!

Title: "My Favorite Things"

Producer: Allison Husband

Time: 5 minutes, 14 seconds

Connection Speed: At least a DSL connection.

Download time: It depends on the connection.  The faster the connection, the quicker the download.

Please enjoy my video!  A lot of time, effort, creativity and fun went into this!
